The angel sent to Mary to announce that she would bear the Son of God.

Gadara:

A city of the Decapolis inhabited mostly by non-Israelites. It lies today in northwestern Jordan. (This is impossible because of the huge distance. In the film, we adopt Matthew’s reading: Gergesenes, not Gadarenes [Matt. 8:28].)

Galilee:

Jesus-Praying-Gethsemane-MormonThe northern part of the land of Israel, between the Mediterranean Sea on the west, the mountains of Lebanon on the north, the Sea of Galilee on the east, and the hills of Samaria on the south.

Garden of Gethsemane:

Located on the western slope of the Mount of Olives, opposite the temple. After the Last Supper, Christ retired here with His Apostles, where He communed with His Father, commenced the Atonement, was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, and allowed Himself to be arrested.

Garden Tomb:

One of the traditional sites for the burial and Resurrection of Christ.

Genesthai:

Greek infinitive meaning “to produce through birth or natural production, to come into existence, or to be made or created.”

Golgotha:

The site of the Crucifixion of Christ.

Gospel of Philip:

A text supposedly written by Philip, but more likely produced in the third century AD. This gospel was never canonized.

Grand Council:

The meeting held in the premortal realms in which God the Father presented to His spirit children His plan for mortality and for the Atonement.
